About Luke Richmond MA, LPC
In writing this, I feel so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to live out my dream of supporting others in their time of difficulty. Having the necessity for a website and an “about me” page is surreal enough. In sessions, I lean into well researched tools and evidence based protocols to best help my client’s unique situation, but this section is a little about me personally for anyone that is curious.

My dream of becoming a therapist started in the later half of high school. I found myself caring more for the unique struggles and philosophical insights that other students would share with me than the cliques and trends of the time. I wasn’t sure exactly where my career would take me, but I knew I wanted to better understand people and “what makes us tick”.
I dove into books and research and was quickly overwhelmed of the vastness of mental health, psychology, human factors and statistics. In all the mess, professional counseling presented itself. The pop culture motif of the exaggerated therapist with a client lying on a couch pontificating was brushed away and gave light to real people having real conversations that brought meaningful change. I was hooked.
Education followed. A bachelors degree, an advanced certificate and then a masters degree and licensure came about. What is glossed over in this extreme broad stroke of time, is the amount of people that helped me find myself and grow into the person I am today. Without them, this business would not exist.
Today, life looks a bit different than the years of nonstop school and training, and I’m grateful for that. I’m a husband and a father first, and a therapist second. My free time usually includes getting outside, reading, writing, and occasionally firing up an old “throwback” video game for nostalgia’s sake.
If you’re considering working with me, I hope this gives you a glimpse of who I am, not just what I do. I care deeply about this work, and I’d be honored to walk with you through whatever you’re facing.

This is Waffles. Waffles is not a part of the therapeutic dynamic directly, but he is awesome and deserves recognition for helping Luke Richmond stay grounded.
Thanks Waffles!
